A strawberry or blueberry barbecue sauce is a killer companion for duck or turkey. That said, it also works really well with chicken wings. Kick up the heat level and you might even try it on a hot chicken sandwich, too.
Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh blueberries or strawberries, crushed
- 1 1/2 cups white vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp red pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Servings: cups
Instructions
- Blend the ingredients and cook together in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 8–10 minutes. Best served at room temperature or warm. Excellent served on duck or turkey.
