Think of this spicy popcorn as perfect for when you want to Netflix and chile. While that obscure movie you found online to watch with your honey may suck, the popcorn you eat with it shouldn’t have to. This recipe can feed up to eight people, but who are we kidding? Two popcorn addicts can devour that much prime rock faster than a piranha school on a suckling pig; eight people eating this just ends up with six different versions of Captain Hook and two people eating popcorn.
To make an Indian-flavored popcorn, replace the spices below with 1/2 teaspoon curry powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric, and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper.
Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp cumin ground
- 1/2 tsp hot New Mexico red chile powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 dash cinnamon ground
- 12 cups pre-popped popcorn
Servings: people
Instructions
- Preheat the over to 200 degrees F. In a small bowl, stir together cumin, chile powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Spread the popped popcorn in an even layer in a large shallow baking pan. Lightly coat the popcorn with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over popcorn, then toss to coat.
- Place in the oven for 10 minutes to warm it up.
