Hot buttered rum punch is a winter go-to of mine for lots of reasons. It’s yummy, warms you up, and it’s a good way to unwind with friends after a day of preparing for the holidays. I like this version because it also brings a little heat thanks to some cayenne powder.
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 cups orange juice
- 1 cup dark rum
- 2/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp cayenne powder
- 10 cinnamon sticks
- 5 tsp butter

Instructions
- Mix all of the ingredients except the butter in a crockpot and cook them on the low setting for 3-4 hours.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks from the punch, ladle the punch into mugs, and top each with half a tablespoon of butter.
