This dark red salsa must have been invented for Carnitas. Even though is made with Tomatillos, the dark red result is due to the smoked chiles in it. It goes well also with all types of food.
Ingredients
- 4 each tomatillos
- 1/4 medium sized onion
- 4 each chiles morita seeds and stems removed
- 2 each chiles guajillo seeds and stems removed
- 1 clove garlic
- salt to taste
- water for blending
Servings: cups
Instructions
- Roast lightly on a griddle the tomatillos, the onion, the chiles and the garlic. In a blender mix the roasted ingredients with the salt and add water until you reach the desired texture.
