We have moved up the entire schedule for the Scovie Awards–entries, judging, and the sending of awards and banners. The reason: the entire process was taking too long and was running into the Christmas holiday or longer before winners received their awards. Our schedule may have changed but the fees haven’t. Here’s a breakdown of all the deadlines and entry fees.

The Devil and I go way back. Growing up, we ran into each other off and on at elementary school, mostly at the principal’s office. It wasn’t until my junior year in high school when I got a car and a girlfriend that we became BFFs, though. Since then, we’ve had many adventures together. The latest came when Chamuco’s Tequila CEO Mark Howard gave me a bottle of the company’s reposado to review. From the snazzy box to the handmade artisan bottle and all the way to the taste, my old buddy’s touch is definitely evident.

Thirteen years ago, when I was an extremely green rookie motojournalist for Hot Rod Bikes magazine, I found out about the happy marriage of Harleys and chili while wolfing down a bowl of the stuff at the annual custom bike show during the Laughlin River Run. I knew the two were a natural match but it took me a second to figure out why. Both are customizable American icons and nothing complements a long day on the road like a quick bite of good food. Why wouldn’t they be a great fit?
